{My Family}

I love my family, but they are by far, the most challenging group of individuals to capture on film.  It's a trait my sister and I inherit naturally, but we have added a few in-laws along the way that just make things more interesting. Inevitably, we will have every person smiling at the camera but one, and at some point, someone is going to throw some cross-eyed look into the one group shot  where everyone else looks decent.  What's sad is that the trouble-makers aren't the three or four-year olds, it's the ones that should know better!  Major props to Mal for helping out with this group of characters!  I owe you BIG TIME.  To my sister and mother, the pictures are what they are.  We did our best :)

The whole group...see if you can find the trouble-maker!!

{Michael, 6 months}

Second to watching  your own children grow is probably watching your sister's (or brother's if that's your sibling of choice) children grow.  My nephews never cease to entertain me...partly because they are adorable, but mostly because I can be the cool aunt and do fun and crazy stuff with them :)

Those are quite possibly the cutest baby cheeks!

This picture is eerily similar to a photograph taken when Kim and I were about their ages...right down to the expressions on their faces and body posture.

No, it's not the best photo of them...but I think their expressions are priceless!

{Cooper 6 months}

I absolutely love seeing babies grow and change during their first year :)  This little guy is going to be a heart-breaker when he grows up because even at six months, he is such a doll...and has so much personality!! Amanda and Corey, I seriously could have just taken oodles of photos of him...but I'm sure you had better things to do on a Saturday afternoon anyway.  Thanks guys for letting me capture him again...and I promise to have more well-behaved pets on your next visit :)
Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

This is my favorite picture, artistically...I just love the shadows!

{Matt and Heather}

Another fun family to capture is my good friend/lab partner Heather, her husband Matt, and their daughter Lilyan.  Although we ran out of time around Lilyan's first birthday for pictures (which was also during the horrible heatwave), we thought while everyone was dressed up for family pictures, we could sneak in some late one year pics, too.  Here are some of my favorites from their afternoon session.  Enjoy!!

{Jeff and Kristin}

So, I have been trying to photograph my friend Kristin's family for, what four months now?  Finally, FINALLY there were no sick children, heat waves or cold spells to spoil this opportunity!  Jeff and Kristin, I'm not sure if you noticed it, but Landon loves having his picture taken...he could have a career in modeling when he gets a little older!  Now, Tatum's a girl that is going places...just not while wearing her shoes!  You are a beautiful family, and I really, really loved getting the chance to capture you on film.
Thank you Jeff, Kristin, Landon, and Tatum for sharing your Sunday afternoon with me!
 I hope you enjoy the preview :)

{Jordan, Senior 2013}

Spring has always been my favorite season, but I have to admit as a photographer, autumn definitely ranks number one with me.  Especially late in the afternoon, when the sun casts such a warm glow over nature's radiant foliage...and that is enough flowery words for this post.  I was so excited to shoot Jordan's senior pictures today, especially since we avoided any rain, and the temperature was almost perfect!  She was so much fun to photograph, and so willing to try different things to get the shot...even if it meant standing just inches (okay, more like a couple of feet) away from a speeding train (which is a shot that I absolutely LOVE!!!)...and major props to my Creative Director, Gaye (don't you just love the capitalized "title"), who held tripods, hats, flowers, brushes, and just about anything else she could carry; she fixed fly-away scarves, hair, and even became a human step-ladder :)
Thank you both so much!!! I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!
